Leader’s Evening – Hawaa Launch

This Saturday past, the beautiful Halswell Library was graced by a stunning gala of celebration, inspiration, and appreciation.

The Canterbury Muslimah Network hosted an evening of appreciation for Christchurch’s dedicated volunteers by treating them to a fantastic five course spread. From the delicately constructed entree, to the delicious North African Sharba, to the gorgeous main, and the plentiful chocolate cake, over sixty people enjoyed a delicatessen delight like no other.

The evening was accompanied by a number of inspiring talks by our very own Nada Tawfeek and Asayal Almutairi. Speaking on faith, love, and leadership they captivated and inspired the audience to continue their incredible work and expand their horizons. They set the stage for the long anticipated launch of Hawwa.

Nailah Hasi culminated the evening by introducing the much needed initiative for young Muslim women and their social, spiritual, physical and mental wellbeing. She expressed Hawaa’s aim of creating a safe space for young Muslim women to share and discuss their experiences, to become comfortable and stable in their identities, and to learn to grow in to effective and capable leaders.

It was an incredible and exciting evening, with the hopes of many more to come. For more info on Hawaa click here.
