Ramadan Moonsighting 2018

Be part of a beautiful sunnah and come join us to sight the new moon for Ramadan 2018 / 1439H

Moonsighting is a big part of Islam as we follow the lunar calendar. The Prophet s.a.w. has encouraged us to sight the moon by saying:

“Fast when you see the New Moon. Celebrate Eid when you see it again.”

When: Wed 16 May 4:45pm (sun sets at 5:14pm)

Where: Cashmere/Port Hills area (exact location will be emailed to you)

What to bring: Warm clothes, prayer mat, ruler & optical aid (optional)

* We will provide a moonsighting chart and give a quick tutorial on how to sight the moon.

** Please note that parking is limited so we will have to restrict numbers. If possible, please organize to carpool with friends so that more people can attend!
